WELCOME TO THE UTAH SHERIFFS’ ASSOCIATION

SHERIFF MIKE SMITH
PRESIDENT
“During my 28-year career in law enforcement I have had many opportunities to serve and work beside some great people. While the bulk of my career has been spent working through the ranks of a police department, and eventually becoming the Chief of Police, nothing compares to serving in the role of an elected sheriff.
I’m honored that my colleagues have put their trust in me while I serve as the president of the Utah Sheriffs’ Association, and it is my privilege to work alongside each one of them. I’m especially grateful for our executive team consisting of Sheriff Tracy Glover, Sheriff Kelly Sparks, Sheriff Travis Tucker, and Sheriff Chad Jensen. As an association we are committed to providing quality training to our deputies and to working closely with policymakers to promote laws that protect public safety, prioritize support for victims of crime, and protect the constitutional rights of all Utahns.
Our state and our nation are facing some hard times, but your 29 elected county sheriffs in Utah stand united. We will continue to ensure that we work with our local and national partners to preserve the freedoms and rights we all enjoy in the great state of Utah.”

RESPONSE TO DPS CRIME DATA
“The George Soros catch and release, cashless bail, defund the police, radical agenda is good for criminals and a disaster for public safety. Unfortunately, it has caught up with us. The result is a seemingly endless cycle of career criminals who believe there are few consequences for their actions. They will continue to offend, get released, and reoffend until we stop this nonsense.”

2ND AMENDMENT
Prompted by increasing public concern to safeguard constitutional rights, we, the elected Sheriffs of Utah, solemnly reaffirm our sworn oaths to “...support, obey, and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Utah....” We...
